Dr. Maggie Dong
Dr. Maggie Dong graduated with dual degrees, Doctorate in Optometry and a Masters in Vision Science, from the New England College of Optometry. Prior to that she has also received a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioural Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. She has received extensive clinical training in ocular disease detection and management at the Manchester Veteran Affairs Medical Center in New Hampshire as well as the Wenzhou Eye Hospital in China.
Having had the opportunity to participate in Academy of EyeCare Excellence in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Maggie also received specialty contacts lens training in Jacksonville, Florida. She is keen on the ocular health aspect of optometry, which focuses on early disease detection, preventive care and treatment of eye disease. Most importantly, she enjoys helping people see clearly! Dr. Maggie participated in a volunteer trip to Honduras in 2012, where eye exams were performed on hundreds of people in poor communities. She found the experience to be very rewarding.
Dr. Maggie grew up in 3 different continents in Asia, Europe and North American, and finally decided to move to the beautiful Victoria area with her partner after working in Vancouver for 2 years. Outside of the office, Dr. Maggie enjoys exploring the Vancouver Island, going swimming in lakes, discovering hidden gems of the city. Dr. Maggie is excited to grow her practice and looks forward to taking care of all your family’s eye care needs.
